The Arthur River is one Tasmania's seven major rivers. However is is unique in that it has never been logged nor dammed.  It is pristine and completely wild. 

Our beautiful craft, The MV George Robinson will take you on an exploration of this unique area. The George Robisnon is an older style craft fitted out in Tasmanian timbers and brass fittings.

The rainforest area can only be reached by river. They have a diversity of species including Leatherwoods, laurels, sassafra, myrtles, celery top pine,  blackwood, Tasmanian oaks and giant tree ferns. Our guides are all local people and they impart a wealth of knowledge on the history of the area, the pristine rainforest and of the aboriginal tribes who once lived here.

The sea eagles are wild and nest on the bank of the river. For the last fifteen years we have fed them tidbits and they usually wait for us to return downstream for their treat.

Built c 1885, Glen Osborne House is a National Trust listed property set in large gardens.

This magnificent building offers quality four and a half star bed and breakfast accommodation at affordable rates. It is a peaceful property located in a quiet area of Burnie, Tasmania. It caters for thirteen guests. Some rooms have spas.
